First International Symposium on Cell Therapy

On April 28, the First International Symposium on Cell Therapy, "State of the Art in Hematopoietic Progenitor Cell Transplantation," was held with the participation of Dr. Felipe Prósper (Clínica Universidad de Navarra, Spain), Dr. Manel Juan (Hospital Clínic, Spain), Dr. Antonio Pérez-Martínez (Hospital Universitario La Paz, Spain), Dr. Francisco Espinoza (Cells for Cells, Chile) and Dr. Maroun Khoury (International Society for Cell & Gene Therapy, LATAM), who shared their experience and knowledge on cell therapy and future developments with leading medical specialists from Peru and Bolivia.

As part of the symposium, Dr. Frank Kunkel (Miltenyi Biotec, Germany) visited and gave a lecture at Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia and, together with Dr. Kirsten Langeveld (Miltenyi Biotec, Germany), delivered a lecture at Instituto Nacional de Salud del Niño – San Borja.

Our visitors also spent a day in Lima getting to know parts of the city.
