V&C Biotec donates hematopoietic progenitor cell transplant kit for patient with acute leukemia

In September 2022, V&C Biotec donated a kit valued at US$ 23,000 to the Instituto Nacional de Salud del Niño – San Borja (INSN-SB) to support a haploidentical hematopoietic progenitor cell transplant in a pediatric patient with acute leukemia. The kit included the reagents and consumables required for the magnetic cell separation process used in this type of transplant, in which V&C Biotec specialists perform T-cell depletion of the graft before it is infused into the patient. This procedure reduces the risk of graft-versus-host disease (GvHD).
